Yemanja’ completed their debut album in August 2005, and have been traveling endlessly since…
In the last eight months, they have played in the United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal and Egypt, are presently in Seville, Spain, and will finish the year in Brazil…
Hopefully they’ll be home in the New Year to participate in the Revenge Records launches in Brisbane and Sydney, but they’re such serious gypsies that they could wind up anywhere…
Already, the album ‘Divine is Life’ has solicited a lot of interest… the growth in style and execution since the rough demos that have been on the site for the last couple of years, is pretty impressive, Anita’s vocals have matured beautifully, and Eddies guitar playing is ever more individual…that as a genuine compliment! I still can’t figure out 3/4s of the chords he uses!
They’ve been working as a duo whilst traveling, and the mail from all corners of the world consistently centers on the freshness of the sound, and the inspirational nature of the lyrics…two of the things that I’ve loved about them from the start…
Given the breadth of their travel, the best way to acquire a copy of the album is mail order from the site, unless you are lucky enough to be somewhere they are playing...the Revenge site offers a series of purchase options from single track files, thru full album, audio only at a track by track price, to album with pdf downloadable artwork for $5.00 less than the RRP of $25 on mail order…so whichever you choose, there is an easy way to start unveiling this unique piece of art..
For gig details, go to www.yemanja.com.au it’s a seriously beautiful site, and extremely informative regarding the bands movements, performances, and creative pieces...
Already new works for the next record are underway, so here’s wishing you a totally enjoyable introduction to a lifetime addiction...
